Reliable Impound Services in Whatcom County
The following regulations and fees are Washington State Law and we must abide by them at all times. All of the following is required for us to release a vehicle:
The person wishing to redeem the vehicle must be the registered or legal owner according to Department of Licensing records, or their authorized agent.
The vehicle must be registered or titled to the person seeking to redeem the vehicle. If you are seeking to redeem a vehicle on behalf of someone else, you must have a signed letter of authorization from the registered or legal owner and provide a photo copy of their valid picture identification.
If you have purchased the vehicle but have not yet transferred the registration into your name, you must do so before attempting to redeem the vehicle.
The person redeeming the vehicle must present valid picture identification.
No one can claim a vehicle without valid identification. If you do not have valid picture identification, you must go to a licensing agent and transfer the registration of the vehicle into the name of someone who does have valid picture identification.
All towing and storage fees must be paid before the vehicle can be released from impound.
The minimum fee for a private property impound entering our yard is $400 plus sales tax. Typical fees are:
Towing - $400/hour, per private class “A/E” rate schedule with the DOL.
Storage - $101/day, calculated to the nearest half day ($50.50 per half day).
After-hours release – a $149 fee will be charged if the vehicle or personal belongings are released after normal business hours of 8am – 5pm Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
These rates are current as of October 2024 but are subject to change.

How much does it cost to have a vehicle removed from my property?
We only charge the owner of the vehicle being impounded, not property owners or management. In rare cases we may need to charge a removal fee for vehicles that are in exceptionally poor condition. Boats and RVs/camper vans will also incur a removal fee.
